Physician (CBOC-Palentine)

The Primary Care Physician's duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provides comprehensive care for our veteran population such as services in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of assigned patients. Comprehensive Women's health care duties include, assessment and treatment of patients, including pelvic examination, pap smears and other related gender-specific healthcare of women, reviews diagnostic studies and reports abnormal findings. Provides effective medical treatment, consultation, and diagnosis upon request from other Services/Departments. Obtains patient histories, performs physical exams, formulates a working diagnosis and develops/implements a treatment plan according to clinical guidelines and to determine appropriate hospitalization, and/or disposition to Nursing Home Care, Assisted Living, Community Nursing Home, and/or Home Care. Orders appropriate tests and incorporate results for treatment plan. Initiates or expedites requests for consults, special tests, or studies. Authorized to write both inpatient and outpatient medical orders, treatments and medications. Provides education and counseling to patient and family in preventive care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatment and drugs. May serve as an attending/teaching physician for internal medicine residents/students as assigned. Coverage of extended hours of clinic coverage in the evenings and on weekends will be required on an intermittent basis. (This may include 10 hour shifts for 4 days during work week) Works with nurses to coordinate care in non-face to face settings. Provides supervision/collaboration to mid-level provider as assigned/requests Participates in Peer reviews, chart reviews, hospital/clinic committees and Process improvement initiatives as assigned. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Three - five years of experience in providing comprehensive care to patients with acute care needs Women's Health Reference:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
